What is an IDN?

An internationalized domain name (IDN) is an Internet domain name that contains characters outside of the English alphabet, for example from languages like Arabic, Hebrew, Chinese, and many others.

A traditional domain: worldsite.ws

A Chinese based IDN:

IDNs are creating an opportunity for everyone in the world, regardless of language or location, to be able to access the Internet in their native language.

So what is an IDN? It’s how we’re making a global Internet LOCAL.

Watch this brief video on how IDN solves the Internet's biggest problem

Why IDN

Will Change the Internet

The Internet today is undeniably global, but it began in the United States and its foundations were laid in English. All domain names for over 30 years have been made exclusively out of the English alphabet, hyphens, and numbers. Every domain! Convenient for native English speakers, but that's less than 10% of the world's population. The language barrier has been one of the few factors limiting growth of the Internet.

SOME ENLIGHTENING STATISTICS

As of March 31, 2011, there are more than 2 BILLION people with Internet access: https://www.internetworldstats.com/stats.htm How many unique visitors would you guess visit Google.com on a monthly basis? In June of 2011, the figure given by compete.com is: 150,132,156.

But wait! To most people you know, isn't "Google" synonymous with the Internet? Yet, simple math will tell you that 150,132,156/2,000,000,000 is just a hair over 7 percent.

The fact of the matter is that what English-speaking users of the Internet consider to BE the Internet, is just the tip of the iceberg! There’s a much bigger Internet the rest of the world is using and they'd like to get on it in their own language.

Imagine if you wanted to access the Internet, but you didn't read or write English. What if you had to type in foreign letters to be able to reach any website directly? Wouldn't that be frustrating?

.WS "WorldSite" IDNs solve that problem. Solving a problem for billions of people is a VERY good thing! The last time it happened, there was a historic boom minting new millionaires daily.

IDN Auctions:

MAKE MONEY TWO WAYS

How do you sell a domain for $36.5 million dollars? Well, first you have to let the world know you have it and you’re accepting offers. When you're online, putting something up for sale means an auction site.

Domain auctions happen all the time, and auction sites that facilitate the transactions follow the same standard. When a domain investor sells their domain to the highest bidder, the auction site retains an industry standard fee of 10% of the gross sale of the domain. GDI will retain the same 10%, but we want to share it with you and your network. GDI will only keep half of this 10%. The remaining 5% will be distributed as commissions to the 5 upline affiliates of the IDN owner in the amount of 1% each.

For example, if a domain sells for $10,000, 90% of the gross sale is kept by the domain owner, or $9,000. GDI will retain the standard 10% for facilitating the transaction, or $1,000 and then distribute $500 of that, in the amount of $100 to each of the 5 levels of the IDN owner’s upline!

So, not only does a GDI affiliate receive commissions on the purchase of IDNs in their network, but also when that domain sells at the Auction site!

The .com Boom

Do you remember the .com boom of the 1990’s? During the height of the .com boom, which lasted only three years, approximately 8,520,000 millionaires were created from the online industry alone. Those years represent the single greatest period of investment the U.S. has ever seen. IDNs are presenting the same opportunity — but on a global scale.

Before and during the .com boom, smart investors bought good domain names and developed them or sold them to the highest bidder; for the best domain names that bid can be HIGH. How do you get a great global domain name? There’s only two ways; be first, or buy it from the person who was first.

In 2010, the domain name "Insurance.com" sold for $36.5 million dollars.

Category killer names like “insurance” are all taken in English for .com; but you can still find such names in Chinese, Japanese, and many more languages with .WS IDNs. Domains like these stand a chance to bring a HUGE return as the global domain market explodes.
