WebSite.ws remains independent: Goal, to be the largest US registry next to Verisign.
.CC and .TV swallowed up by Giant Verisign
On January 7th, 2002, VeriSign, Inc. (NASDAQ:
VRSN) announced it will take over control of the .tv Web domain by buying .tv Corp.
International for $45 million cash. This comes at the heals of VeriSign's
purchase of .cc in mid December 2001.
